Vegas

So, before I start...if anyone ever wants to take me to Vegas when I turn 21, you would officially be the most amazing person....EVER!

But today in church I got perhaps the biggest "compliment"...actually, wouldn't call it that. I got noticed for something I do and it wasn't that I loved it since it built me up but it was something that gave glory to God. I had a lady come up to me after the first service and ask if I was the one putting the words on the screen for the sermon. I said that I was which made her eyes light up. She told me that it was something she really appreciated and said that while to some it may be small what I (I also infered the other mediashout people) do was appreciated and a great way to connect what is being sung or said to the people in the congregation. This was huge for me since I for the longest time thought that what we did wasn't really noticed and just "a given." Well, I thought about it, and to put it in my most "basic" terms....God puts it in the heart of people what we (Mediashout Team) do and He shows them in His own way what we do.

The other amazing thing from today was talking to Rick Hawkins after the second service. He pulled me close and asked if I was going on any mission trips this summer. I told him that the college ministry, NGAGE, was probably going on and I was going. Well, Rick looked me square in the eye and said, "I want you to tell me when you're going so I can help you get there man." Now, this would normally be enough for one but he added right after, "cause Matt, you've been really helpful for me and I want to help you out...I'll even get others to help you out." Now before that last part I had already shook his hand but once he said that last part I nearly tackled the guy I was so estatic. Rick is basically a second dad to me at the church, and it was amazing to hear someone say that. So thanks be to God for men like that in the world...people with huge hearts that keep going and going

Oh yeah...the Steelers won the Super Bowl. I hated to go against Kurt Warner since he's such a strong believer. But, even with his and Larry Fitzgerald's valiant effort, they still fell in the end. Congrats to Pittsburgh, and better luck next time Arizona. Good game to everyone

Verses of the day:
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 (my Maranatha tshirt's verse)
"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:35
